Auction bidding can be set up through the site settings. Add auctions to any fundraising site to combine donations, peer-to-peer, ticketing and auctions all on one page.
When you're ready to launch the auction and open bidding, you can enable that through the site settings. This is where you can also schedule the auction to close, at which time the "Place Bid" buttons will be removed.
To enable/disable auction bidding, follow the steps below:
Enable Auctions Or Open Bidding
Step 1: Select the site settings >> Auctions >> General. Here you can enable auctions by turning on:
Enable Auctions: Enable auctions for this site. Show/hide all auction pages.
Enable Auction Bidding: Enable bidding functionality for auctions. When disabled, bid buttons will be hidden.
If you'd like to promote items in advance of the bidding, you can schedule a future Auction Start Date. This prevents early bidding, ensuring bidding only becomes available on the auction items at a certain date and time.
Auction Start Date: Enable and set the date when your auction will begin.
Step 3: Ensure the Bid button is enabled on the Auction Item Page and the Auction Item List.
Disable Auctions Or Close Bidding
Step 1: To disable auctions, turn off Enable Auctions. This will remove the auction pages from the fundraising site.
If you want to promote items prior to bidding, you can keep Enable Auctions turned on but turn off Auction Bidding.
Step 2: To schedule the auction to officially Close, scroll down to Auction End Date and set an end date and time in UTC time.
At this time, the Place Bid button is automatically removed from all items, and admin will be able to charge the winning bidders.
Step 3: To hide the auction item pages, you can turn off Enable Auctions through the site settings. Additionally to remove the Auction Item list you can select the site Design and disable the list module.
