How To Set Up Bidder Payment Options

Written by Jenna Notarfrancesco

When running an auction on CauseVox, you can choose how bidders provide payment details during registration and bidding. Configuring bidder payment options helps you control whether bidders must save a card in advance or can wait until event check-out or post event to provide payment.

Available Bidder Payment Options

Both Payment Options (Popular for in-person events with live auction or paddle raise)

  • Bidders can choose to either:

    • Save a card on file at registration for faster checkout, or

    • Pay later once the auction closes when fulfilling their winning bids.

  • This option provides the most flexibility.

Save Card Only (Great for online silent auctions)

  • Bidders must add a valid payment method (credit/debit card) during registration in order to place a bid.

  • Their card is securely stored for quick fulfillment when they win items.

  • Recommended if you want to ensure all winning bids are easily collected.

Pay Later Only

  • Bidders are not required to save a card in advance.

  • Payment is collected after the event which may require invoicing and is usually paid by cash, check, ACH or DAFs.

  • Best suited for in-person or silent auctions where payment may be handled at check-out or post-event.

To set up bidder payment options, follow the steps below:
