Custom fundraiser fields allow you to collect additional info from your peer to peer fundraisers during their personal or team fundraising page setup. Here are examples of what you can do with this feature:
Find out the best way to connect with fundraisers (email, social media, etc) and ask for additional contact information
Ask fundraisers for their t-shirt size if you’re running an athletic event.
If a family is fundraising under one page, you can collect their names and contact information.
Figure out where fundraisers heard about your campaign/organization (through a friend, online, etc).
Opportunity to select any rewards for fundraising.
Custom Fundraiser Fields are available for both personal fundraising pages and team fundraising pages. For the purposes of this article, we will be showcasing personal page custom fields.
Using Custom Fields
Step 1: Under Campaigns, select the settings of the campaign you wish to edit.
Step 2: Under Sites & Forms, select your site.
Step 3: Under Personal Pages, select Custom Fields from the left navigation. To enter your custom question, select Add New Field.
Here’s what custom fields look like on the personal page setup:
In the above example, a custom field is added of "What program do you want to designate...". Personal page participants can answer this question through their page creation wizard.
Here’s what normal field look like on the personal page setup with multiple questions:
In the above example, two custom questions are added on the donation form.
Custom Field Options
Your custom fields can be one of serval options.
Text Line - donors write a short form response
Text Box - donors write a long form response
Dropdown Menu - donors select from options provided
Checkbox - donors check the box in agreement
Radio - donors are forced to choose one of the options
Any question can be made required or optional.
Custom Field Groups
We recommend one custom field question per group so that your data exports are more readable (most common).
If you need data grouped together or formatted as columns, you can use Field Groups (not as common). Groups are supported for both Normal and Repeating Fields.
In the above example, three custom field are added in one row to save space as well as to have data grouped together in exports.
Additional Notes
Your fundraisers will fill out their custom field on the first page of their personal or team fundraiser setup form.
You’ll be able to see a fundraiser’s custom field answers on when you select Manage >> Personal / Team Page and select a participant.
Custom fields data is available n the fundraiser export.
Custom fields are available on the Standard Plan and above.
