CauseVox connects with Stripe and PayPal to process donations. You can choose one or the other, or use both to take transactions. For more information on each processor, please visit our articles:
How does donation processing work?
On each campaign, you will have the option of using Stripe or PayPal, or both! With Stripe, donors can pay with credit card, debit card, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.
With Stripe, you can take the following transactions on CauseVox:
One-time donations
With PayPal, donors will select the PayPal button to login to their PayPal account to make a payment.
With Paypal, you can take the following transactions on CauseVox:
One-time donations
Currently, you cannot use PayPal on CauseVox for recurring donations, pledges, and peer to peer registration fees.
To set up donation processing with Stripe, follow the steps below:
For Stripe
Step 1: Under Campaigns, select the Settings (gear icon) of the campaign you would like to edit.
Step 2: Select Payment Processing on the left navigation.
Step 3: Select Connect Stripe Account.
Note: You can add multiple Stripe accounts. Just select Manage Accounts >> Connect Another Stripe Account.
If you already have a Stripe account, enter the email of your Stripe account and Connect.
You may be asked a short series of questions to authorize the connection. Fill in all fields and continue through setup.
If you do not have a Stripe account, select the option Create a new account.
Step 4: Select the Stripe account you would like to connect. A connected Stripe account will say "Connected" to the right.
Step 6 (Optional): You can also set a default Payment Processor and currency settings across all campaigns through the Admin Account Settings >> Payment Processors.
For PayPal
Step 1: Under Campaigns, select the Settings (gear icon) of the campaign you would like to edit.
Step 2: Select Payment Processing on the left navigation.
Step 3: Scroll down to the PayPal section and select Connect PayPal Account.
Step 4: You will be prompted to login to your PayPal account. Enter your email and password and Continue.
Step 5: When you successfully login you will see this confirmation screen.
Step 6: You will see that PayPal is "connected and approved" in your CauseVox settings.
