How are donations processed?
When you set up your donation processor account, you'll also connect a bank account.
When funds are processed through Stripe, donations will be deposited individually and directly into your Stripe account. Once deposited in Stripe, CauseVox will then deduct the transaction fee on each donation, and Stripe will deduct their fee as well.
Note: If the donor added donation tipping to their donation amount, that full amount is deposited in Stripe, and is therefore included in tax-deductions, if applicable. Should the tipping amount be more than the transaction fee, the leftover amount remains in your Stripe account.
Stripe is set to automatically transfer funds into the bank account you connected on a two day rolling basis. You can login to Stripe to see when your next transfer is scheduled
If you used PayPal, the process is the same, except that donations must be manually requested to be transferred into your bank account.
How do I setup donation processing?
CauseVox primarily uses Stripe to process donations because of its ease of use for both admins and donors. However, we do offer PayPal as an option for users that can't access Stripe.

To set up your donation processing, follow the steps below:
For Stripe
Step 1: Under Campaigns, select the Settings (gear icon) of the campaign you would like to edit.
Step 2: Under Global settings, select Payment Processing.
Step 3: Select Connect Stripe Account.
If you already have a Stripe account, enter the email of your Stripe account and Connect.
You may be asked a short series of questions to authorize the connection. Fill in all fields and continue through setup.
If you do not have a Stripe account, select the option Create a new account.
Step 4: Select the Stripe account you would like to connect. A connected Stripe account will say connected to the right.
Step 5: Save in the lower right hand corner.
Step 6 (Optional): You can also set a default Payment Processor and currency settings across all campaigns through the account Payment Processors settings.
For PayPal
Step 1: Under Campaigns, select the Settings (gear icon) of the campaign you would like to edit.
Step 2: Select Payment Processing under the Global Settings for the campaign.
Step 3: Scroll down to the PayPal section and enter the PayPal merchant ID and select Connect PayPal Account.
Here's where you can find the merchant ID in your PayPal account: Account Settings >> Business Information >> PayPal Merchant ID.
Step 4: You will be prompted to login to your PayPal account to "approve" CauseVox. If approval is successful, you will see PayPal connected on the admin side.
